Gambia’s most prolific striker, Adama Tamba has score her third brace to make it six in three matches in the ongoing women division one league.
Tamba who netted a brace in week one and two of the league scored another with one in both halves to send her side three points clear of Armed Forces, Interior and Abuko United who are all on six points.
Armed Forces have had their hopes raised after beating rival Interior ladies 2-1 in week two but struggled to hit the net against Choro Mbenga’s side who consolidated their position in the division one league table.
Earlier on Saturday, Interior ladies laboured a 1-0 win over Immigration ladies at the Serekunda West Mini Stadium. Metta Sanneh’s long range shot that struck the top right corner of the net put an end to a frustrating night for Interior who were watched by the Interior minister, Hon Ousman Sonko.
On Friday, Abuko United scored two to beat Brikama United ladies who seemed to be the league’s weakest. The win has put both Abuko and Interior on six points and with Armed Forces losing to Red Scorpions on Sunday, three service teams are galloping hot in the heels of the 2014 champions for the title.
Meanwhile, in the second division, Future Bi aren’t letting their momentum slip as they thrashed Company Ten 6-0 on Friday at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama. The win saw Future Bi move three points clear on the league table.
On Saturday, Jambanjelly scored and picked their first win in over two years. Jambanjelly laboured a one nil win over Jeshwang United who were champions in 2013/14 season.
Finally on Sunday, City Girls thrashed Kinteh’s FC by 2-0 at the Serekunda East Mini Stadium.
