Breaking News: The deputy director of planning at the ministry of youth and sports, Pa Suwareh Faye, will manage the Independence Stadium for the next two months an insider at the Independence Stadium told Na Gambia News Online.
Pa Faye is standing in for Ebou Faye, who is reported to be given a two month leave without salary.
According to the insider, Ebou received his leave letter early this week and has since vacate the seat for the new occupant, Pa Suwareh Faye, a long serving staff of the ministry.
Ebou Faye is currently the second vice president of the Gambia Football Federation and has been stadium manager since March 2012.
Recently, Ebou Faye told deputies that 15 million dalasi is needed to transform the Independence Stadium into a state-run sports and recreational institutions.
The said amount requested will go into offsetting the debt and refurbishing the stadium and the hostel, as the facilities there are in deplorable conditions.
