In the run up to Gambia’s match against South Africa, the technical and development committee headed by the first vice-president of the Gambia Football Federation, Abdoulie Star Jallow selected players for the coach to avoid delay.
Coach Raoul Savoy is on tour in Europe to meet and or see Gambian players in action.
Going to Europe is not going on holiday, so Coach Raoul Savoy should busy himself searching for players who are:
1. Players who show moral obligation to put on the national colours
2. Players playing in recognized leagues
3. Playing regularly
4. Playing over 45minutes per match
5. Players who aren’t injured
6. Players who aren’t just returning from injury
7. Players willing to play under the coach
8. Players ready to cooperate with teammates on and off the pitch
Under normal circumstances, the coach should go in for players who do not meet five of these criteria but in The Gambia’s case, is this applicable?
