The Brufut based Gilkock Football Academy have received football equipment from Dutch couples Ruth and Anneka Assendelft. The materials includes football jerseys, balls, water bottles and T-Shirts.
The couple have been donating football materials to the Brufut based academy since 2011 and have continued to support. The pair have been introduced to the academy by Ebrima Jatta alias EJ, who have passed through the academy and now coaching in USA.
Anneka and Ruth presented five sets of jersey, three boxes of balls and four boxes of water bottles. They also handed each players of the academy a tennis ball, something that pleases the players.
After receiving the materials, Buba K Jallow, the head coach and technical director of the academy said, the materials could not have come at a better time than this.
“We were running out of materials especially balls. So receiving these balls and other materials came at the right time. We at the academy are very happy to have friends like you. Since you visited our academy, you have continued to support us and we cannot but just thank and pray for you two,” the former women U-17 coach said.
Buba who is now the head coach of Brufut United informed Ruth and Anneka that their support have helped the academy produce many players, some of whom are in Europe playing amateur football while the team he coach is full of players of the academy.
The technical director however reminded the players that they need to work hard hence they have people providing with the required materials to practice the sport they like most.
