The unpredictable Gambia Football Federation division one league continues to show its unpredictability as week six saw another twist on the league table.
Gambia Ports Authority reclaimed top spot from Samger who were thought to be real contender after their clash with Steve Biko. The ferry boys sailed back to the summit of the table after they narrowly edged past last season’s surprise package, Bombada one nil on Sunday.
The win saw them move two points clear off Samger who enjoyed a brief spell at the top of the division one league table.
The dockside boys, GPA are now on 12 points leaving Samger drifting second with 10 points.
Wallidan joined the fray to challenge for the title after they edging past the Gambia Armed Forces who are hopeful of being crown champions. When the Gambia Armed Forces defeated Gamtel/Gamtel in week five, their coach, Pierre Gomez said they going all out for the championship but Wallidan have now given him the reason to understand that the 2015/2016 won't be given away cheaply to any club.
Steve Biko who were involved in a brawl last week drove a dagger in the hearts of Real de Banul with a one nil win to move to the middle of the league table. Real de Banjul were left stunned by the Giant killers a week after the perennial champions under new coach recorded their first win of the season.
Meanwhile, Tapha Manneh’s, Gamtel/Gamcel continues to struggle as they launch the defense of the title. The Cellular Boys played out a scoreless draw with Brikama United.
CAF Champions league bound, Gamtel are languishing in the middle of the league table while Saul Kuyateh’s men, Brikama United, also maintain their spot in the upper half of the table.
Hawks, Bombada and Serekunda continue to struggle for form in the ongoing league but a win for any of them can bring them back into the challenge.
