Brufut United quavered past their nightmarish 3-0 defeat in the hands of league leader, Marimo FC to claw themselves into second position on Thursday with an emphatic 2-0 win over Lamin United at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.
The newly promoted side from the coast of the Atlantic Ocean refused to be a push over in the ongoing division two league collecting 13 points from possible 18. They are a point adrift of Marimo who squandered the chance of moving three points clear. Marimo were held to a one all draw by Blue Stars a day after Brufut edged past fellow Kombo North side, Lamin United.
Guided by Buba K Jallow, the former coach of The Gambia Women U-17, Brufut Uinted seems to be believing that a top four finish is possible. Almammy Ceesay and Omar Jarju's goals were on the score sheet to put broad smiles on the technical director of Gilkock Football Academy, Brufut Branch and his squad who are sending signals to the remaining sides in the second division.
