A brace from two Red Scorpions forwards helped Choro Mbenga’s side regain top spot with a slender goal difference over Armed Forces ladies in the country’s women top flight.
Aminata Camara and Adama Tamba each scored twice to help the ladies in Red put four past a helpless Brikama United at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.
The duo shown for Red Scorpions on Saturday as they beat Brikama United 4-1 to go top of the table standing ahead of Armed forces on goal differences.
Aminata opened the scoring in the 12th minutes when Adama Tamba beat a couple of defenders and laid a beautiful pass to Camara whose clinical finish was beyond the reach of the Brikama goalie.
Aminata’s second in the night came in the 36th minute when she latched on to a low cross which was making its way into the net with a simple tap.
Brikama United consolation came minutes after Red Scorpions got their through their attacking mid-fielder Tenneh Silva who capitalized defensive error.
While Brikama were hoping for a comeback, Adama Tamba added the third for Red Scorpions. The prolific striker dazzled the Brikama United defense to slot home the third 39minutes into the game. She wrapped up the game midway into the second half with a fine assist from twin sister, Awa Tamba.
Earlier on Friday, Armed Forces ladies beat Interior ladies 2-1 in what was a service derby. Mamie sylva and Mamkumba Sam were on the score sheet for the army while Isatou Jallow netted for the police side.
On Sunday Abuko United put two past Immigration ladies to acquire their first three points in the league.
